Owen Neisel

My name is Owen Neisel, and racing isn't just a sport to me — it's my calling. I fell in love with racing at three years old, watching Jeff Gordon on TV. At five, I drove my first go-kart, and I knew this was what I was meant to do.

Financial challenges held me back growing up, so I focused on other sports and became a Division II collegiate swimmer. At 16, my family moved to Michigan City, Indiana, and later to Quincy, Illinois. I spent the summer of 2024 working and saving every dollar I could, and by late 2024, I finally had enough to buy a race-ready go-kart. The moment I hit the track, I knew I couldn't turn back.

This season, that decision has started to pay off: 2 wins, 4 podiums, and 7 top-5 finishes across 16 races — all self-funded, all built lap by lap in the garage. My first career win came by 7.7 seconds at KCA Round 3, and I backed it up with a second win the very next round. There's still ground to make up, but the results are starting to show what the last few years of grinding were for.

Racing was a gift I believe God gave me, and I'm committed to chasing that dream with everything I have. Every race, every lap, and every hour in the garage brings me closer.

This journey is about more than just me — it's about representing Michigan City and Quincy, and supporting the local businesses in both towns that make this possible. With faith, grit, and hard work, I'm racing to prove that anything is possible when you refuse to give up.
